THE MAN BEHIND THE WORK
Art was a way
of living.
Roland March was a sculptor, painter, producer, novelist, and gallery owner whose work grew from a close attention to the world around him. His materials could carry a previous life: a wheel, a piece of machinery, the overlooked geometry of something made to be useful.
He gave those objects a different future. Across decades, his work moved from assembled metal forms to large outdoor sculptures and projects that brought together art, performance, and film. Writing gave that imagination another form.
